This is the plasma 6 version of TiledScreen (Plasma 5) . Plasma 5 version is no longer maintained and is not functional. Requires Python 3 . Has only been tested to be working on Plasma 6.2.0+

I have been a fan of the "Menu Tiles" since Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows Phone 7, 8, and 10. I believe that the "tile" system is infinitely superior to "icons." Unfortunately, the general public did not embrace this form of organization, and it created a niche group of users.
Attempts to bring this mode of use to various platforms have been quite limited in comparison to the potential it offers. It's essentially an "icon" mode disguised as "tiles."
I'm writing not to criticize! On the contrary, I want to congratulate you for keeping this alive within Linux, unlike Microsoft, which completely killed this feature.
However, it is impossible not to ask for a little more (I know it's difficult for programmers to hear requests that are sometimes absurd, or that have nothing to do with the given proposal; and often the response is, fork the project and do it yourself; or simply, do it yourself). Unfortunately, I have no programming skills, I'm just a tech enthusiast.
I know my request might be too much for you, much larger than what's being posted here; but I will make it anyway.

I have been using it on my Android for years, and if there was something identical on Plasma, it would be a dream come true.
The power of this "launcher" surpasses even the original from Windows 8.
But, even if you don't accept this idea, the Tiled Screen at the moment really needs the ability to let us put images instead of icons on the app "tiles." This is a minimum feature for this type of launcher.
